Order Your SMART Train Pass Online

All SMART passes are loaded onto a Clipper Card. If you do not already have a Clipper Card, you can obtain one from www.clippercard.com or from a fare machine at any SMART train station. Use your pre-tax transportation benefit to pay for SMART passes on your Optum Financial online account. See details on each pass type below.

Please note that all passes must be ordered by the 10th day of the month.

Senior 31-Day Pass  $100  $60 Must be 65 years or older. Must be loaded onto a Discounted Clipper Card for seniors
Regional Transit Connection (RTC) 31-Day Pass for Disabled Passengers  $100  $60 Only available to passengers under 65 with qualifying disabilities. Must be loaded onto a Regional Transit Connection (RTC) Clipper Card.
Cash Value User determined County will match user contribution up to $40. Users can load any value ($270 pre-tax max) onto a Clipper Card for use on any transit provider accepting Clipper (including SMART) to and from work.

  • SMART Adult 31-Day Pass

    SMART Adult 31-Day Pass

    The SMART Adult 31-Day Pass is a program that offers discounted unlimited rides on Clipper for 31 consecutive days from the date of first use. The fare price for the SMART Adult 31-Day Pass is $135 .

    The last day to enroll in the SMART Adult 31-Day Pass is the 10th day of each month.

    SMART Adult 31-Day Passes are non-transferable, cannot be sold, transferred or duplicated, and may not be provided to or used by anyone other than the participating employee to whom it is issued, including family members.

  • Senior 31-Day Pass

    Senior 31-Day Pass (for passengers 65 years or older)

    Discounted SMART 31-day passes are available to passengers 65 years or older at a fare price of $100.00/31-day pass.

    This pass must be loaded onto a Discounted Clipper Card for seniors, which is a version of Clipper created for passengers 65 and older. You must have a Discounted Clipper card for seniors prior to placing your purchase on ConnectYourCare. Apply for a Discounted Clipper card for seniors through Clipper.

  • RTC 31-Day Pass

    Regional Transit Connection (RTC) Monthly Pass (for disabled passengers)

    Discounted SMART 31-day passes are available to passengers under the age of 65 with qualifying disabilities at a fare price of $100.00

    This pass must be loaded onto a (Regional Transit Connection) RTC Clipper card, which is a version of Clipper created for passengers under 65 with qualifying disabilities. The RTC Clipper card is a photo identification card that you must apply for in person at a participating transit agency, such as SMART.

  • Cash Value

    Cash Value on Clipper Card

    You can load cash value onto your Clipper Card using your pre-tax transportation benefits. Clipper is one payment system accepted by multiple Bay Area transit providers such as Marin Transit, Sonoma County, Transit, and even the Golden Gate Ferry. Adding cash value to your Clipper Card enables you to ride SMART and more!
