Overview

To support the County’s Climate Action Plan goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from County operations and our employees’ commutes, the County of Marin offers discounted electric vehicle (EV) charging rates for employees at all County-owned charging stations.

General Public Rate - $1/hour.

Employee Rate - $0.50/hour.

To request an access code, please follow the instructions below. For questions, email the RideGreen Coordinator or call 415-473-3485.

Please note: Discounted charging rates are for employees only. Access code is not transferable.

Discounted EV Charging Rules

Discounted EV Charging Rate Rules are as follows:

  1. Only County employees may use the discounted charging rate.
  2. The employee must have an account with ChargePoint.
  3. Employee must provide either their County email address or their employee ID that matches the name on the ChargePoint account.
  4. Employee must obey all parking limits and restrictions posted at the EV charging spot.
  5. If the employee no longer works for the County, they must notify RideGreen and access to the discounted rate will be discontinued.
  6. Discounted rate is only available at County-owned EV charging stations.
  7. By using the access code and activating the discounted charging rate, the employee agrees to all the above rules. Failure to adhere to the above rules may result in a revocation of access to discounted rate.

Requesting Access on ChargePoint Phone App

  1. Open app and access account page by clicking on three lines in upper left corner. Click on Account.
  2. Click on Connections.
  3. Click on Browse Connections.
  4. Enter “marinev” in Connections Code box at top. Note code is case sensitive.
  5. Provide either your County email address or your employee ID number.
  6. The administrator will review and approve requests within two business days.

Requesting Access at ChargePoint.com

  1. Log in to your account at www.chargepoint.com.
  2. Click on Connections at the top of the page.
  3. Enter “marinev” in Connections Code box at top. Note code is case sensitive.

Electric Vehicle Resources

Drive Clean Bay Area (DCBA) is a collaboration of nonprofit organizations, agencies, cities, schools, and businesses with a goal of greatly reducing carbon emissions by advancing the adoption of electric vehicles. Through scaled community engagement programs, DCBA inspires people to replace internal combustion vehicles with electric vehicles, e-bikes, and other forms of zero-carbon transportation.
