Order Your SMART Fare Online
Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) sets fares for passenger rail service. SMART offers a variety of fare options, including passes for frequent riders. Current fare pricing is available on the SMART website and is subject to change.
Use your pre-tax transportation benefit to pay for SMART passes on your Optum Financial online account. See the Transit Match & Pre-Tax Payroll Transportation Benefits overview for eligibility and requirements to purchase SMART passes/cash value, as well as fares from other Bay Area transit providers, through this program.
Please note that all transit order purchases must be completed by the 10th day of the month for use in the following month.
Fares purchased through the pre-tax transportation benefits program are loaded onto a Clipper Card. Clipper is one payment system accepted by multiple Bay Area transit providers including Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit, Marin Transit, Sonoma County Transit, and Golden Gate Transit. If you do not already have a Clipper Card, you can obtain one from www.clippercard.com or from a fare machine at any SMART train station. You can also request one from RideGreen.
